Trent Williams

My name is Trent Williams and I live in Green River, Wyoming. Being from the western United States I will bring a different flavor to The Hammerpup video and future Team Hammerdog videos. I am 17 years old and love to hunt, fish, and just be in the great outdoors in general!

I love to hunt Elk, Mule Deer, and Antelope. Any kind of big game really gets my blood boiling but I will hunt whatever is in season. I also, love hunting ducks and geese! My dad and I usually jump-shoot them, which is a blast! Rabbit hunting, coyote hunting, and ice fishing takes up the majority of my winters, but man am I glad it does! I hunt whenever I can, and go fishing often all through winter, summer, and spring. Although it's hard to go fishing when I have an itchy trigger finger!

The first deer I killed was the first year I was allowed to hunt, which is 12 here in the Wyoming. We came into a sagebrush meadow that had a saddle running through the middle of it.

While I was walking up to the edge so I could look over into the saddle, my dad sternly told me to stop. I looked up and there was a big mulie staring right at me. He was really tall and about 28" wide, with a BLACK head. I immediately got the fever and started to shake. Although the shot was maybe 100 yards, it was my first year hunting and I wanted to get a solid rest. Well the old boy wouldn't let me and started to bound off, and I took an offhand shot and hit high over his back. I looked to my right and there were more deer!

A little 2 point (2x2) and a 3 point (3x3) were all I could see. They started to get nervous and ran from right to left in front of me. I took the shot at the 3 point and saw him tip head over heals through my scope! AWESOME, MY FIRST DEER! I have killed 3 deer since then, an antlerless deer, a two point (2x2), and a 4 point (4x4) I got last year.

Last hunting season was my first year hunting with a bow. I already have 2 antelope under my belt. A doe, and a 13 1/4 inch tall buck that scored 65 (2" short of making P&Y). I got the doe opening day and the buck the second day of the season. I didn't expect to shoot one that big, but I'll take it!

I also shot my first bull elk last season. It was also a 4-point (4x4). Last year was a great year for me! My first animals with a bow, my biggest deer to date, and my first bull elk! It was simply awesome!

This hunting season is approaching quickly, so check in on us and watch our progress this upcoming season and the seasons to follow!

Being a part of Team Hammerdog and Team Hammerpup is really a dream come true. Thank you all!
