Eric Neathery

I'm a city girl who enjoys hunting! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would cook wild game or ride a four-wheeler through the woods. Let alone sit in a deer stand and shoot a deer in sub-freezing weather! Although I come from a long line of Jaegers (hunters), I had never been exposed to any kind of hunting until I met my husband. My mom is German and her uncles and grandfathers hunted Wild Boar and Red Stag in the Bavarian forests. So it must have been my destiny to be a Jaegerette!

While spending my high school years in Singapore, I enjoyed deep-sea fishing with my dad. He said I always caught the first, last and biggest fish. Now that we're back in Louisiana, we have made several trips to the gulf. I even made a trip to Lake Guerrero Mexico for some lunker bass. I also fish with my father-in-law. He and I team up for my work's annual fishing tournament and we always win first place. The Brauds are the ones to beat!

I've always loved to fish. And look at me now! I have added skeet shooting, dove hunting and even squirrel hunting to my resume. I have gone deer hunting with the greatest guide (my husband) and that has led me to killing one doe, and two bucks! My first 8-point is up on our living room wall! He may not be the biggest one ever, but he was my first.

I'm also an avid photographer. I love taking both still pictures and video. With everything being digital now, it makes it even more fun! Noelle (four-year old daughter), Roscoe (rat terrier) and Frasier (Jack Russell terrier) have had their pictures taken so much; friends say they need welding masks to protect them from the flash! Mark has both of my buck kills on video, so now I need to get behind the camera. Well, maybe after I kill another one then I can film!

But the way it's looking, Noelle might be the next one killing a deer. She loves going to the deer camp and sitting in the stand. She was with my father-in-law when he killed a deer, and she was so excited, especially when she got out of the stand to help him look for it. "There it is, Paw Paw!". I wonder who was more excited?
