Mike Guerin

Hello, Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Louisiana, where I still live with my wife Holly and three daughters, Hailey, Carley and Toni... does a dog (File') and two cats (Pepper and Sugar) count towards the total. Either way I am totally out numbered by the women.
My dad took me and my brother fishing a few times but he wasn't really a hunter or fisherman and only went to take us occasionally. But those handful of trips were all it took. We moved to Greenwell Springs and a whole new world of outdoor opportunities opened up for me once I was old enough to carry a pellet gun. After that I spent hours on end roaming the woods and wadeing up and down the Comite River in search of fish, squirrels or ducks.
Then my Uncles teamed up and bought a few acres in Mississippi to camp on. We were always camping with them. The camping trips/squirrel hunting trips ended for me when I jumped my first deer. After that I put the squirrel gun away and was and have bee totally hooked on deer hunting ever since.
I poured over all the hunting and fishing magazines I could get my hands on. When it came time to go to College I took my dads advice, "Study something you enjoy"! So I went LSU with a major in Forestry. I got my degree but my grades sure weren't nearly what they should have been because I spent all my time fishing and hunting instead of studying.
Since graduating I got married and settle down. Bought my uncles out and that is where I do all my hunting now. I would enjoy hunting most anything but of course that would interfere with deer hunting.
During the offseason I spend my off time fishing for bass, bream, trout and offshore. I really like fishing offshore. Nothing like having a tuna crash your topwater lure.
My interest in the outdoors has led me to start my own hunting and fishing website, TheJump.Net! I met Wayne on my message board and that is how I got hooked up with him. I am also a member of the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association and a field reporter for Louisiana Sportsman Magazine. Oh and I guess I should say I am the webmaster for Southern Outdoor Products and Team Hammerdog as well as a couple of other sites. Looking forward to helping Team Hammerdog give the outdoor communtity something that is too often lacking. Video's that are honest and fun to watch! Because we do it, like you do it!
